2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz
The 2024 Santa Cruz by Hyundai is a brawny mashup of an SUV and a truck, and it belongs in your driveway today. Let's discuss what you can get out of this adventure-ready vehicle.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2024 Santa Cruz is available in SE, SEL, Night, XRT, and Limited trims. They're all ready for action, boasting useful features that add to the bold design. These include projector-type LED headlights, LED taillights and daytime running lights, integrated multi-level rear bumper steps, heavy-duty cargo D-rings, and sidewall and underbed storage compartments. If you choose the Limited trim, you'll have a gorgeous dark chrome accent front grille and tailgate handle trim, heated side mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, a rear sliding glass window with a defroster, roof side rails, and a power tilt-and-slide sunroof. The XRT trim comes with wide fender cladding and convenient side steps. The Night trim is true to its name with a dark front grille and dark 20-inch alloy wheels, accents, and front and rear fascias.
Engine (Power)
The SE and SEL trims come standard with a Smartstream 2.5-liter GDI/MPI four-cylinder engine married to an eight-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC. This powertrain produces a solid 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The three higher trims offer a lot more power from their Smartstream 2.5-liter Turbo GDI-MPI four-cylinder engine that's mated to an eight-speed wet dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. This set puts out an impressive 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
No matter where life takes you, the 2024 Santa Cruz is ready to get you there. All trims come standard with a self-leveling multi-link rear suspension, Hillstart Assist Control, Downhill Brake Control, Drive Mode Select, and an Electronic Parking Brake with Automatic Vehicle Hold. The top three trims come standard with an HTRAC all-wheel drive, and you can add it on for the SE and SEL trims. As for towing, the capacity with trailer brakes on the SE and SEL is a strong 3,500 pounds. The Night, XRT, and Limited top that at 5,000 pounds.
Interior
Interior features vary by trim, but some of the exciting features you can get include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an eight-way power driver seat with two-way power lumbar support, heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats, a rearview camera, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a Bose premium audio system. Even more tech abounds with features like a wireless phone charger, a 10.25-inch navigation system, Dynamic Voice Recognition, a Digital Key, dual USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Each trim also has 60/40 split tip-up rear seat cushions and an under-seat storage tray.
Safety Features
Hyundai prides itself on safety, and that's made clear by the abundance of standard safety features across all trims. You'll get Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Rear Occupant Alert, Safe Exist Warning, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist. Higher trims offer even more, with the likes of Forward Collision Avoidance with Pedestrian, Cyclist, and Junction-Turning Detection, Intelligent Speed-Limit Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control, and Blind-Spot and Surround View monitors.
