Choosing between the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride can feel tricky since they’re two of the most popular midsize SUVs. Both offer great comfort, advanced technology, and impressive performance, making them standout options for family-friendly adventures. Lets take a look at some of their key features and how they differ.

Interior Comfort and Features

Hyundai Palisade Interior

The Hyundai Palisade comes standard with seating for eight passengers, but you can select second-row captain’s chairs, for a seven-seat configuration. High-quality materials give the interior a refined feel, especially with available Nappa leather upholstery on higher trims. One feature families appreciate is the available third-row power-folding seats, which make adjusting cargo space quick and easy. Plus, higher trims have the Ergo-motion driver’s seat for added comfort on long drives.

Kia Telluride Interior

The Kia Telluride also seats up to eight people with its standard configuration. You can choose second-row captain’s chairs here, too, bringing the seating capacity down to seven. Heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats are options for higher trims. Like the Palisade, premium Nappa leather upholstery is available, offering extra luxury. The Telluride also includes convenient touches like six USB ports, with charging ports in every row, making it practical for passengers.

Performance and Handling

Hyundai Palisade Performance

The Palisade runs on a 3.8-liter V6 engine with smooth power delivery. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you can pick the HTRAC All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for better handling in different conditions. It offers selectable drive modes, so whether you’re towing or driving around town, you’ll feel confident behind the wheel. Fuel economy does well, with up to 22 MPG combined for FWD and 21 MPG combined with AWD.

Kia Telluride Performance

Similarly, the Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 engine. Performance is strong, and the towing capacity reaches up to 5,500 pounds if you choose the X-Pro trim. Front-wheel drive is standard here as well, with AWD as an available option for enhanced handling in tougher conditions.

Technology and Infotainment Systems

Hyundai Palisade Technology

Inside the Palisade, you’ll find a user-friendly 12.3-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, helping keep everyone connected and entertained. On higher trims, there’s a Harman Kardon premium audio system with QuantumLogic Surround, making every ride more enjoyable.

Kia Telluride Technology

The Telluride matches closely with similar technology. It features a standard infotainment setup that also includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional perks include available upgrades like a dual-screen setup for driver and passenger convenience and numerous USB charging ports conveniently placed throughout the cabin.

Fuel Efficiency

Hyundai Palisade Fuel Economy

The Palisade gets an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with FWD. If you choose AWD, these ratings slightly decrease to 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. These numbers are solid for an SUV of this size, giving you efficient family travel.

Kia Telluride Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is comparable to that of Telluride, with slightly lower efficiency due to its more robust towing ability. The Telluride achieves around 23 or 26 MPG on the highway, depending on if you choose FWD or AWD.
